Working in Aberdeen -salaries realistic?

Been living here since 2010. Rent is about $1,339/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 16,831 people. Poverty rate is 8.6%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Does this match your experience? The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 12 years. Moved from Chicago for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Rising rent and home prices. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
