Is Abilene a good place to live?

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Poverty rate is 10.2%, which is around average. With a population of 127K, Abilene is a mid-size city. Median household income is $62,720, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Moved here from Atlanta about 9 years ago. it's not perfect but it works for me. Still getting used to outdoor recreation but Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
