Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 69°F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What do you all think?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 11 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Chicago about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is decent.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
