Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Abington sits at 139.8 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do?

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in East for 1 years. Moved from LA for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And healthcare can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is average in most areas.

I'm a data analyst and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

Moved here from Houston about 12 years ago. I love the pace of life here. Still getting used to cost of living but No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Boston about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..
