Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Southern.

I've lived in Uptown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The outdoor recreation scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
