Absecon vs New York -which is better?

First post here. We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $237,600 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The job market is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 5 years. Moved from Miami for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is solid - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Dating scene is rough. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Diego about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.
