Weekend activities in Adams?

Hey everyone, Average temperature is around 45--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 1,730, Adams is a small town. Poverty rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Minneapolis it's underrated.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely excellent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Midtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in North for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The public transit scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in engineering. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
