Is Addison getting better or worse?

Hey folks, My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $318,000 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Addison sits at 199.0 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
