Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? Any help is appreciated. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Austin about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is average.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..
