Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 17,210, Adelphi is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What are your go-to spots? TIA! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Baltimore about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is improving.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The public transit is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much established but now it's tough.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 1 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
