Been meaning to ask this. I'm single, late 50s, and Homes are going for about $1,053,000 on average. Median household income is $135,286, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 9,155 people. Poverty rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in engineering. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The traffic is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Sunset for 3 years. Moved from Austin for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is decent - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Dating scene is rough. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is solid
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..
