Is Aiken worth moving to in 2026?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but With a population of 32,334, Aiken is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 32,334 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What are your go-to spots? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2018 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in The Heights for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
