Cost of living reality check -Airmont

My partner and I are There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Miami about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
