Job market in Airway Heights for tech?

Hey, Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $286,900 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 42, moved here 10 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Midtown and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Limited shopping options
3. The dating scene situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Old Town) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 14 years. Moved from Austin for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is decent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
