Household incomes average around $45,813 in Aitkin. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Miami it's pretty good.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great BBQ places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Meadowbrook area are average. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 13 years. Moved from Miami for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is tough - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Can feel isolated. And healthcare can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
