What's it really like living in Akron?
It's a a small town city with about 1,681 people. Am I overthinking this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I work in healthcare here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is excellent. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Uptown for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is average
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
