Moving to Akron — what should I know?

I got a job offer in Akron, OH and I'm seriously considering the move. I'm coming from a small city. A few questions:

1. Which neighborhoods should I look at for a $700-1100 budget?

2. How's the commute situation?

3. Is the crime as bad as the stats suggest?

4. Any hidden costs I should know about?

Check out the Northside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Check out the Eastside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.
