Rent in Akron getting crazy

OK so My partner and I are With a population of 190K, Akron is a mid-size city. Median household income is $48,544, which feels on the lower side for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? Any help is appreciated. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Thai places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Westside area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
