What's it really like living in Alabaster?

Median household income is $90,163, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,375/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
