I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Alamogordo sits at 342.4 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,063 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Worth the trade-offs? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
