Best coffee shops in Albany?

Hey everyone, I grew up here but left for a while. Poverty rate is 24.2%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 67,939, Albany is a smaller city. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Nashville about 14 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
