Best kept secrets of Albany, GA

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 6.3%, which is concerning. Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I wrong here?

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 3 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
