What to expect moving to Albany?

Hey everyone, Rent is about $898/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

I've lived in Uptown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
- The school system scene is tough

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
