Is Albany a good place to live?

Curious what people think. My partner and I are Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a smaller city city with about 56,773 people. Median household income is $73,809, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
