Pros and cons of Albany after 3 years
Hey everyone, You can expect to pay around $1,311 for rent here. Homes are going for about $352,900 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Albany sits at 127.3 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- High property taxes
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
What would you do? Any help is appreciated. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
