I'm a chef and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2020 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Denver about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Summers can be brutally hot
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Downtown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The cultural scene scene is tough
