Is Albion worth it salary-wise?

Random thought, I've been here for 10 years and It's a a small town city with about 2,680 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 7 years. Moved from New York for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Road conditions need improvement. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
