OK so I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Albion sits at 68.6 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.
