Housing market in Albuquerque — is it worth buying?

Median home value here is around $266,700. Prices are reasonable compared to major metros. For those renting, typical rent is $1085.

Is now a good time to buy in Albuquerque? Or better to keep renting?

Looking for opinions from both homeowners and renters.

If you can afford it, Eastside is the best place to live. Period.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Respectfully disagree about the safety concerns. In my experience, it really depends on your lifestyle.

The job market has been improving lately. Several healthcare companies moved in recently.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.

I work in government and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 6 months.

Don't sleep on University District. It's up and coming and still affordable.

For families, I'd recommend looking at University District. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.
