Is Alden walkable?

Hello, Rent is about $804/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $74,426, which feels about average for the area. It's a a small town city with about 2,595 people. With a population of 2,595, Alden is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Appreciate any input. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 42, moved here 7 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Maple Ridge and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The outdoor recreation situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for families. excellent vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a teacher and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
