Life in Aledo as a young professional

Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and It's a a small town city with about 5,432 people. Household incomes average around $152,083 in Aledo. The unemployment rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $2,604 for rent here. The median home value here is around $409,300, which is pretty steep. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Close to nature
- Low taxes
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Limited nightlife
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Not enough green space
Am I wrong here? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I've lived in Fairview for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Diverse dining options
- The cost of living scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a project manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
