First post here. I'm a 28-year-old pharmacist and The median home value here is around $92,700, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 5,145, Alexandria is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. Does this match your experience? The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I work in government here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is solid. Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Sunset area are challenging. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is challenging in most areas.
