Best companies to work for in Alexandria?

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 58°F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $696,800, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $2,031/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
