Cheapest neighborhoods in Alexandria?

Hi all, Median household income is $113,638, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Westside for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
- The pet-friendliness scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 9 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..
