Been living here since 2020. It's a a smaller city city with about 29,904 people. Household incomes average around $131,753 in Algonquin. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Does this match your experience? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 5 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**

The market right now is solid. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**

construction is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is tough - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**

Varies hugely by district. North schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**

I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited entertainment options. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
