What Algonquin does better than anywhere else

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. It's a a smaller city city with about 29,904 people. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.
