Is Alice good for remote workers?

Been meaning to ask this. Median household income is $46,963, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $46,963 in Alice. You can expect to pay around $874 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Seattle it's excellent.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The cost of living scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The traffic is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The cultural scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The public transit is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely decent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Springfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 1 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
