I've lived in Downtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- The public transit scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Charlotte about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..
