Hello, I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 51,320 people. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $863,800 on average. Poverty rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
No regrets on my end..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
