Biggest downsides of living in Aliso Viejo?

Hi all, Been living here since 2020. Rent is about $2,774/month for a decent place. Median household income is $137,970, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $863,800, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 12 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
