Been meaning to ask this. I'm single, late 40s, and Rent is about $767/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
