Hello, We have two kids and You can expect to pay around $1,190 for rent here. The median home value here is around $328,700, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $108,669 in Allison Park. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Pittsburgh it's challenging.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Good luck with whatever you decide..
