Hey folks, You can expect to pay around $1,839 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What do you all think? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Phoenix it's challenging.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in tech here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in East for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The school system scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..
