Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $146,581 in Alpharetta. With a population of 66,355, Alpharetta is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Does this match your experience? Thanks! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 11 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is surprisingly good.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's average.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
