How is Alpharetta for outdoor activities?

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Alpharetta sits at 111.3 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,874 for rent here. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 66,355 people. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
