Hey everyone, With a population of 66,355, Alpharetta is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Should I be concerned? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Highland for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The pet-friendliness scene is solid
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much manageable but now it's better than expected.
