What I wish I knew before living in Alpharetta

So, I work in real estate and Poverty rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Came here for work and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The walkability is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 11 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into running, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
