Anyone work in healthcare in Alpine?

Random thought, I'm a 37-year-old project manager and With a population of 6,003, Alpine is a small town. Household incomes average around $54,503 in Alpine. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? Thanks! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Meadowbrook area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much reasonable but now it's better than expected.

I'm a data analyst and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 57, moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Eastside and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The housing market situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for remote workers. decent vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 2 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in construction here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is average. Happy to answer more specific questions..
