Hello, I've been here for 18 years and With a population of 10,272, Alpine is a small town. You can expect to pay around $2,786 for rent here. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The public transit is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.
