Pros and cons of Alta after 13 years
Anyone else feel this way? Should I be concerned? TIA! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Bought a house here in 2017 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Atlanta about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..
